Diane Brooks, Senior
Paralegal, has worked at the Law Offices of
Richard Sax since 1999, providing support in
civil litigation actions in federal, appellate,
and state courts. Currently, Diane assists the
law firm in a variety of legal areas, including
personal injury, real
estate, Native American law, and criminal law.
Diane obtained her paralegal certificate from
Sonoma State University in 1999, after majoring
in Liberal Arts at Monterey Peninsula College.
During her paralegal studies, Diane became the
first paralegal to complete an internship with
the Marin County Counsel’s Office, assisting law
clerks and attorneys in legal research projects
and drafting legal memorandums. Diane also
interned with the Sonoma County Family Law
Facilitator, Louise Bayles-Fightmaster (now a
Superior Court Commissioner), and with the
Sonoma County TRO Clinic.
Before becoming a paralegal, Diane worked in the
fields of education, healthcare, and business.
Diane assisted teachers in the educational
field, representing students with special needs.
In business, Diane worked in management
positions in the hotel/restaurant and
retail/merchandising industries. In healthcare,
Diane worked in the Advice/Appointment Center at
Kaiser Permanente, where she was elected to
represent Kaiser workers as a Union Steward.
